We believe in full transparency about costs. Here is a clear breakdown of what you will and will not pay when using our service.
Eligibility Check
FREE
Our eligibility check is completely free. There is no charge to find out if you have potentially eligible car finance agreements.
If no eligible agreements are found, you pay nothing and your data is deleted within 30 days.
Claim Handling: No Win, No Fee
No Win, No Fee
You only pay if your claim is successful. There are no upfront costs.
If eligible agreements are found and you choose to proceed, you will be connected with an FCA-authorised partner firm. These firms operate on a No Win, No Fee basis:
- If your claim is unsuccessful: You pay absolutely nothing. There are no hidden fees, no administration charges, and no costs of any kind.
- If your claim is successful: The partner firm will charge a fee, typically a percentage of the compensation received (including VAT). The exact fee will be clearly communicated to you by the partner firm before you agree to proceed.
Typical Fee Range
Our partner firms typically charge between 25% and 36% (including VAT) of the compensation recovered. The exact percentage depends on the partner firm and the complexity of your claim.
Worked Example
If your compensation is £1,000 and the partner's fee is 30% (inc. VAT), you would receive £700 and the partner would receive £300.
Cancellation
You have the right to cancel at any time during the claims process. If you cancel before the partner firm has done any substantive work on your claim, there will be no charge. Some partner firms may charge for work already completed — this will be explained in their terms.
What Carclaimer Charges
Carclaimer does not charge you anything. We are paid by our partner firms for connecting them with eligible leads. This does not affect the compensation you receive or the fees charged by the partner firm.
